Research overview
The Center of Excellence in Weather & Climate Analytics (COE-WxCA) includes PhD-level faculty and staff research experts from the University at Albany’s Atmospheric Sciences Research Center (ASRC), the Department of Atmospheric & Environmental Sciences (DAES), and the New York State Mesonet. Combined, the groups constitute one of the largest concentrations of atmospheric science experts in the United States. ASRC, DAES, and the Mesonet are located at the University at Albany’s Emerging Technology & Entrepreneurship Complex (ETEC). ETEC houses the University’s College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (CEHC), bringing together extreme weather prediction, risk management, and emergency response experts to tackle New York’s ever-increasing severe weather occurrences and devastation.
